Caretaker - part time
Guernsey Housing Association currently has a vacancy for a Caretaker. The part-time position is 20 hours per week, Monday/Wednesday/Thursday/Friday - 9am to 1pm, and Tuesday 8am to 12pm.
The majority of the working day will be spent at one of our Extra Care developments with an hour per week at the GHA office for receiving job orders, updating the team with the status of jobs and completing paperwork.
This role would suit someone with:
previous construction or trade experience who is used to working under own initiative and in people’s homes.
a professional and courteous approach
experience with office and paper work
A big part of the job is managing tasks to the agreed deadline. The person must ensure a courteous and professional approach is provided at all times whilst undertaking checks and repairs. Reactive work is key to this role but there is also a big focus on our cyclical and planned maintenance work to prevent problems and reduce our day to day repairs.
